Our Story
ATCO Energy Theatre is
back with an all new
Super Power! show
and its cast of heroes
and villains. The evil
super villains, Rocket
Socket and Carmen
Monoxide, return and are
up to their same sneaky
tricks! But our hero,
the Blue Flame, has his
own plan and invites
Rocket Socket (Rocky)
and Carmen onto his game
show,
Power Game with the Blue
Flame! The Blue
Flame tells Rocky and
Carmen they will gain
more power with every
correct answer. And they
do! The villains start
feeling more powerful
and are having fun
without realizing they
are teaching kids how to
avoid their dangers. The
Blue Flame, one of the
Power Teams most popular
super heroes, knows that
when kids have “brain
power” – they have what
it takes to defeat the
super villains.
This 45-minute musical, Power Game
with the Blue Flame, is designed to help teach kids about natural
gas, carbon monoxide and electricity and how to stay safe in and around
their homes. They will learn how natural gas and electricity are made
and how they travel and get to our homes. Throughout this edu-taining
performance, students will be active participants using their own “brain
power” to defeat the evil super villains.
The ATCO Energy Theatre Super
Power! shows are suitable for all elementary grades (kindergarten to
Grade 6) and is specifically linked to the Alberta Education Grade 4 to
6 Science curriculum. There are several concepts and terms throughout
the production, and we ask teachers to take time to review some of these
terms before the show, especially the younger grades (ECS to Grade 3).
We will provide a package of pre-show and post-show activities for
teachers to do in their classrooms to enhance and extend the teachings
presented in the show.
The ATCO Energy Theatre
Super Power! shows are offered free of charge to schools in ATCO Gas
and ATCO Electric service communities.
