In accordance with the Electric Utilities Act and its
associated regulations, any industrial or oilfield customer in ATCO
Electric's service area whose annual consumption of electric energy at a
site is greater than 250,000 kW.h is responsible to purchase their energy
requirements with a licensed Retailer or may elect to self-retail. The
electric energy will continue to be delivered via ATCO Electric's
distribution system, and charges for delivery will be passed on to your
retailer who will then incorporate them into the customer's bill.
In order to assist with your retailer selection, the
Government of Alberta maintains a list of retailers that are registered to
provide electric energy in Alberta. The retailer list can be found at
www.ucahelps.gov.ab.ca.
If the site consumes less than 250,000 kilowatt hours of
electricity in a year the customer may elect the Regulated Rate Option (RRO)
from Direct Energy Regulated Services. This is all in accordance with applicable regulations.
