ATCO Electric employs skilled professionals and trades people in many different lines of work. Here are some of the types of careers available at ATCO Electric.

Engineering

Engineering professionals are hired for their combination of interpersonal skills, technical knowledge, business understanding and other interests. ATCO Electric employs engineers in many areas of our business including operations, telecommunications, marketing, regulatory. Most opportunities are aimed at electrical engineers, however some opportunities exist for graduates from the disciplines of mechanical and civil engineering.

ATCO Electric’s commitment to developing young engineers in a positive and challenging environment spans decades. Our engineers are developed through our Engineer-In-Training  Rotation program that equips them with valuable technical and business skills through on-the-job training. We offer mentoring, coaching, development and training processes that help develop the professional attributes and skills required for successful careers.

ATCO Electric also offers a coop & engineer summer program to electrical engineering students interested in gaining hands-on experience. These opportunities provide students with valuable experience relating to the engineering profession.

Other Professions

Professional career opportunities at ATCO Electric are also available in a variety of departments, including: Finance, Accounting, Corporate Communications, Health & Safety, Human Resources and Regulatory. Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of Science or related degrees would be considered for positions in these departments.

Technologies

ATCO Electric offers a range of careers for technologists. These positions may be located in various offices across ATCO Electric's service area.

These positions require a high school diploma with completion of specified math, physics and other courses to qualify for entry to apprenticeship training.  To remain and progress in a trade requires the completion of apprenticeship training, plus on-the-job work experience.
